Have you ever wondered how almond milk is made? We will show you exactly how to make your perfect almond milk from scratch, with ingredients that are very simple and are a great health benefit to our bodies! And before you leave, remember, almond milk is dairy free and has more benefits than your regular traditional dairy milk.
Let's get into how to make your own organic almond milk. If you wonder what almond milk tastes like, you can go to any local grocery store and buy a small container of it and try it out to see if this is something that you would consider drinking. Personally we believe the benefits of almond milk by its self is reason enough to ditch the regular cows milk and switch over to a dairy free almond milk.
Ingredients
1 cup raw organic sprouted almonds - soaked overnight
4 cups pure filtered water
vanilla bean (optional)
dates, honey or stevia (optional)
Unbleached cheese cloth for straining I like these
mason jars with lids for storage
Instructions:
First soak almonds for 12 hours in pure water with 1/2 tsp sea salt. This is an important step so remember that this breaks down the phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors and brings out the cultures and beneficial enzymes in the almonds.
After 12 hours take the almonds and rinse very well. Mix the almonds again with pure water in high speed blender.
Blend several minutes until smooth and creamy. Strain your almond mix with the cheese cloth.
Put mixture back into high speed blender and add sweet leaf stevia vanilla drops to taste or no sweetener.
Pour into your mason jars and store in fridge for up to one week.
Tip:
Save the pulp from the sprouted almonds, dehydrate in oven on cookie sheet on low heat until dry and reuse and almond flour or add to cookies dough and to top of salads.
