Raw Cacao Smoothie with Whipped Coconut Cream Smoothie Recipe


Want to know how to make your protein shake taste better? How about mix it with some delicious coconut? Todays smoothie recipe is all about going nuts, coconuts! This coconut shake recipe is going to be something very tasty and sweet, but still healthy for your healthy lifestyle. There are so many nutritional benefits to coconuts, we thought why not make this into a protein shake recipe!

You will need:

1 cup rice milk

1 ½ Tablespoons raw cacao powder

1 Tablespoon unrefined, extra-virgin coconut oil

4 Tablespoons raw honey

1 Tablespoon soy lecithin

(topping) 3 Tablespoons whipped coconut cream

For the whipped coconut cream use Thai coconut cream if you are using it from a can. Other brands contain too much guar gum which inhibits its ability to separate and also affects taste.

Place the can in the freezer for three hours. The cream will rise to the top. Scrape the cream off the top of the can and whip until it forms stiff peaks.

If you want to make fresh coconut cream than simply puree fresh coconut pieces in a little water blend until smooth. Beat with the electric beaters until you reach the desires consistency.
